Eco-friendly campsite : camp differently!

Protecting the environment

Since we took over the Hautes-Alpes campsite in 2009, we have always taken steps to ensure that our ecological impact is as favourable as possible to sustainable development. In 2012, we based our approach on the European Ecolabel for tourist accommodation to give it credibility and structure. This official label is valid throughout Europe and is a sign of environmental quality certified by AFNOR® Certification.

Improving environmental impact through eco-responsible actions

Thanks to our efforts, we were awarded the European Ecolabel for eco-responsible tourism in May 2013: the 5th largest campsite in France in the PACA region, and the 53rd largest in France.
Everyone involved in the life of the campsite contributes to improving the impact on the environment thanks to green tourism and its eco-responsible measures.
We will continue to improve our environmental protection measures to offer our guests the best possible nature camping experience.

  • Automated treatment to reduce chlorine use;
  • Waste sorting, recycling and composting measures have already enabled us to reduce the restaurant’s waste by 20%.
  • Reduce packaging in the restaurant and use only recyclable packaging ;
  • A proposal for free transport between the campsite and Veynes station to encourage the use of public transport.

Reducing energy consumption

  • Use of photovoltaic lighting and low-energy bulbs;
  • Contract to supply electricity from 100% renewable sources;
  • Hire of solar-powered rechargeable electric bicycles
  • 70m² of solar panels to produce 75% of the hot water for the sanitary facilities using solar energy. This enabled us to avoid releasing 8 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere..

Protecting nature

  • Planting of over 800 diverse shrubs;
  • Conversion of our site into a bird sanctuary (installation of nesting boxes, removal of invasive plant species). These actions have enabled us to become the 1st campsite in France to be officially recognised by the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) in May 2011.;
  • The arrival of local and regional products for the restaurant, produced by organic farming or fair trade ;
  • Nature outings organised by local guides ;
